NAB summons JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman
PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has summoned Jamiat Ulema-e-Islami (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman next week.
According to sources, NAB has launched an investigation against Maulana Fazlur Rehman in the excess assets case and summoned him on October 1 next week. However, sources say that NAB has also issued a summons notice to Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
On the other hand, JUI-F leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed criticized NAB over Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s medical treatment, saying that the government is using the NAB for its own survival. The notice is evidence that Fazlur Rehman’s speech at the All Parties Conference (APC) was targeted, as the opposition accelerates, so does the NAB. he added.
It may be recalled that a few days ago, NAB Chairman Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal had clarified that the process of accountability is for all political parties, groups and individuals as we are following the policy of accountability.
He had said that “our friendship is with the state of Pakistan and the institution is taking steps to recover the money looted through corruption”.
