The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to arrest the former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, OGRA Chairman Uzma Adil and others for their alleged involvement in LNG corruption scam, sources said on Wednesday evening.

The NAB management took decision after completing $200 million corruption scam in LNG agreement. The NAB investigative team has found undeniable proofs of the corruption scam, the sources added.

They maintained that NAB officials can make arrest former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, OGRA Chairman Uzma Adil, Member Ogra Amir Naseem, former Secretary Petroleum Arshad Mirza and PSO Managing Director Imranul Haq.
The NAB investigation revealed that the former PML-N government signed LNG accord against the 2007 rules. The government used BRENT as reference to sign the agreement which is an illegal action.

The PML-N government had claimed that the agreement is between the government of Pakistan and Qatar but the investigation revealed that the agreement was signed between public sector companies.
The investigation also revealed that illegal sections were added in the agreement and the illegal practice put additional burden on the people of the country. Pakistan is supposed to bear the expenses of ship inspection, which is a hefty amount to put on the exchequer.
