NAB to close inquiry against Chaudhry brothers

Lahore, 20th January: The National Accountability Bureau has closed its inquiry against the Chaudhry brothers.

Baaghi TV: The Lahore Hich Court dismissed a petition of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Wednesday after the NAB closed an inquiry against them.

In their petition, Chaudhry brothers had challenged the powers of the chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

As per reports, the NAB prosecutor informed the high court division bench headed by Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan that the bureau has closed a graft inquiry against Chaudhry brothers.

After the NAB statement in the court, the bench dismissed the petition.

Director General NAB Lahore bureau submitted a report to the effect in the court.

It is to be noted that PML-Q leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi had challenged the assets inquiry initiated by NAB against them in the high court.

As per earlier reports, Chaudhry brothers had moved the petitions questioning the NAB’s inquiries into charges of misuse of powers, default, and asset beyond means against them.

They stated that the bureau had started its investigations against them on the charges back in 2000 but failed to find any piece of evidence against them.
