Lahore, 25th May: NAB has urged the Islamabad High Court to reject the appeal filed by the former prime minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif.

Islamabad High Court heard appeals against convictions of PLM-N president Nawaz Sharif, PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz, and her husband Capt (retd) Safdar

A division bench comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the case. Maryam Nawaz and Capt (retd) Safdar appeared in the court.

Justice Amir Farooq summoned Senator Azam Nazir Tarar to the rostrum and assist the court. Maryam Nawaz’s lawyer has applied for an adjournment.

He asked there are two more appeals, how to proceed with them? The court asked the NAB prosecutor, what do you say should be the case?

NAB urges rejection of Nawaz Sharif’s appeals and Jahanzeb Bharwana asked to reject Nawaz Sharif’s appeals for non-compliance.

The court sought arguments from the lawyers and ordered them to tell the court whether Nawaz Sharif’s appeal can be heard or not.

It should be noted that Nawaz Sharif’s pleas were rejected in the Islamabad High Court. The court had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Nawaz Sharif.
