Noorani continued, “To be honored at Times Square by Spotify as #EqualPakistan Artist of the Month, is a culmination of these many years of service.”

It is pertinent to note, that the Swedish audio streaming platform believes audio has the power to bring a change in the world. This perspective led them to their decision to launch EQUAL on International Women’s Day as an initiative to highlight and honor women contributors in the audio, and music industry.

EQUAL will bring forth a number of programs including EQUAL HUB, dedicated specifically to female contributors and creators and help to raise awareness of their work.

According to Spotify’s Vice President & Global Co-Head of Music, Marian Dicus, “With billions of songs and millions of podcasts on Spotify, it’s easy for fans to default to what they know and love best”. Dicus added that EQUAL will make “it easy for fans to engage directly with women creators and their content”.
