Nation Observing Quaid-e-Azam’s Death Anniversary Today
September 11, 2021: Today marks the 73rd death anniversary of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Unfortunately, he passed away only a year after the formation of his country.
The Father of the Nation held great hopes for his country, and while Pakistan has faced many obstacles, and stumbled many times, it can stand today proud as an autonomous nation that keeps evolving.
Quaid-e-Azam said, “We do not demand Pakistan simply to have a piece of land but we want a laboratory where we could experiment on Islamic principles.” He looked towards building a free land for both Muslims and non-Muslims.
The Quaid adopted “Unity, Faith and Discipline” as the motto of the nation, and dreamed of a land where people of all faiths lived in harmony. While it cannot be said that as a nation Pakistan fully adheres to these principles, the fact that the glimmer of them still lives on is cause for hope – as well as the notion that better things are on the way.
This struggling nation has faced many challenges but someway, somehow it always powers through. Today, while remembering the Quaid, as Pakistanis, one must also bear in mind the spirit of being a part of this nation.
A special Quran Khuwani and Fateha Ceremony will be held on his grave today. People from all walks of life will come and pay their respects, and offer flowers.
