MULTAN, Jan 15 (APP): Provincial minister for health Dr Yasmin Rashid on Wednesday said the government wished former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to return the country as early as possible after recovery of health.
Talking to the media persons at Nishtar Medical University, she said that reports submitted about the extension of his stay abroad for medical treatment had no grounds, upon which, he could be granted extension.
The provincial minister said that court had granted bail for treatment on compassionate grounds, adding that she phoned personal physician of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for submitting detailed reports on January 13 in response, Dr Adnan committed to send the reports soon.
The reports, Dr Yasmin said, would be submitted to Pakistani High commission in UK which would dispatch it to home department after confirmation from where the reports would reach them.
Unlike past governments, the PTI government was executing 118 health projects initiated during the last PML-N tenure, the provincial minister said and added that work on the projects was underway.
She said the health department had created 26,000 jobs so far while another 10,000 were in pipeline.
The provincial minister said that work on Nishtar-II had commenced as Rs 9.2 billion would be spent on the mega project of South Punjab.
Dr Yasmin said that 70,000 health cards had been disbursed among the special persons while 30,000 cards would be distributed in Thalassaemic kids.
To a question, she replied that out of nine new hospitals, work on three hospitals had begun while PC-1 of three hospitals had been completed.
Replying to another question, she said the construction of a hospital in Mianwali had also been started.
On the occasion, NMU VC Dr Mustafa Kamal Pasha and other officials were also present.
