NCOC: Children of ages 12 & above to be vaccinated

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) settled on Tuesday to begin Covid-19 vaccinations of children of ages 12 years or more.

Asad Umar, the Planning and Development Minister of Pakistan heads the NCOC. He declared in a tweet that the committee has decided for the vaccination age to be lowered to children of 12 years and above. This way, the nation will be safer.

A drive will be dispatched for immunization at schools to make it simpler for understudies to get vaccinated against the viral disease, he added.

On September 11, the NCOC decided to bring the vaccination age down to 15 years in the country. Consequently, the immunization drive for kids between 15 to 18 years started from September 13. It was chosen to vaccinate them with the Pfizer.

The central government had before revealed its arrangement to start COVID vaccination for individuals under 18 in the country.

“In the main stage, immunization will be supported for individuals in the age section of 15 and 18 while in the subsequent stage, individuals matured somewhere in the range of 12 and 15 will be vaccinated,” sources said, adding that NADRA has additionally been counselled on how the interaction could be worked with.
