Germany’s next prospective health minister and epidemiologist, Professor Karl Luther Bach, says initial reports suggest that the Omicron is a Christmas present and will accelerate the eradication of the global epidemic.

He said that there are many changes in Omicron, 32 changes are only in its spike protein which is double that of Delta and based on the data of affected patients so far it can be said that Omicron itself is adapted in such a way that it can infect as many people as possible, but its lethal effects have diminished.

Paul Hunter, a professor of infectious diseases at the University of East Anglia, says that the theory that Omicron’s severity is not high, but it is possible that the cause is not a change in the virus but large-scale infections from previous variants. Those who are protecting against this new variant, if so, this is good news because no matter how much the virus changes itself, it cannot completely hide from the human immune system and those who have been infected with Corona in the past or vaccinated, they can fight this new variant in a much better way and that is why no more severe cases of this variant have been reported so far.
