NCOC reviews Covid-19 situation across the country

Baaghi TV: According to the NCOC, Daily morning situational brief was held at NCOC. NCOC undertook a detailed review and emerging Covid situation across the country, effects of opening up of various sectors with health guidelines and protocols.

Health experts apprised forum on pattern and prevalence of possible 2nd wave in the world and particularly in the region. Forum was apprised that there is slight increase in positivity ratio and number of cases across Pakistan though overall situation remains stable.

Forum was apprised that there is decline on following health guidelines on wearing of masks, social distancing and no mask no service protocols. Shaking hands has become a routine in total disregard to public safety and health.

Social events and large public gatherings particularly in Restaurants, marriage halls have been identified as higher risk activities where guidelines are not being followed as directed by health experts.

Forum decided to review the present situation in length and formulate comprehensive response to check possible any resurgence of Covid to ensure public health and safety. The same will be shared with all stake holders for their input and after consensus, implementation strategy will be issued in next few days.

Mr Asad Umer emphasised that public safety is of utmost importance and success of national anti Covid efforts should not be allowed to go waste.
