NDMA sends relief goods to Balochistan

BALOCHISTAN: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) dispatched relief goods to Balochistan in their bid to assist the province in their flood-relief and rescue efforts.

The relief items included family tents and de-watering pumps among other things. The relief goods will be used and received by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in Balochistan.

The NDMA and PDMA remain in constant coordination as the federal body has assured its provincial wing of its assistance in any case of emergency or floods. The relief items dispatched by the NDMA will primarily focus on those who were most affected by the recent showers.

It may be recalled that the ongoing monsoon season has wreaked havoc across the entire country. Regions such as Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan have been witnessing persistent rains which have caused widespread damage, deaths, long hours of power outages and flash floods.

The monsoon waves in Balochistan and Sindh have broken their previous thirty-year records for record rainfall in July. What is appalling is the fact that there are still a few weeks remaining in July, so it’s unambiguous what records the rains are going to set for themselves this year.

According to data, the current death toll in Balochistan has risen to 57, as four more bodies were found during the last week.
