Baaghi TV: According to sources, the new draft laws will ban misinformation, immorality and pornography with regards to Islam, Defense of Pakistan and Public Order. While social media companies will also be obliged to remove content against Pakistan’s dignity, security and defense.

According to sources, religion, blasphemy and content contrary to government orders will be banned. Social media companies or service providers will create community guidelines, and the guidelines will inform users about uploading content.

Under the draft rules, no negative content related to another person will be uploaded. Content affecting the privacy of others will also be banned. Content that contradicts religion and Pakistan’s cultural and/or moral values ​​will be banned. There will be a ban on all kinds of content that negatively affects children, content that mimics a person’s personality will also be included in this ban. Anti-defense and anti-state content will be banned, and violent and hateful content will also be banned.

Clearly, under the new rules, the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority will not restrict or hinder the spread of any online content. The PTA will only tolerate the removal of material against Islam, security integrity and Pakistan’s defense, public order, public health, public safety.

Under the new rules, the PTA will also remove or block content such as complaints against Pakistan or criminal procedure, and social media companies with more than 1.5 million users in Pakistan, will comply with the Act. A permanent registered office will have to be set up in Islamabad on which all the companies will be registered.
