New York Street renamed to Honor Allama Iqbal, Pakistani Heritage
NEW YORK: Speaker of the New York (NY) City Council, Adrienne E. Adams, in collaboration with the American Pakistani Advocacy Group (APAG) hosted the ceremony to rename the corner of 109th Street and 101st Avenue in Richmond Hill, New York as the “Allama Iqbal Avenue”. As a writer, philosopher, and even political figure, Iqbal has always been revered by the people of the subcontinent. Remembered as one of the greatest Urdu language poets, Iqbal has left behind his legacy as a scholar and a lawyer.
