No load-shedding on 9th and 10th Muharram: Energy division

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Energy and Power has directed all power generation companies to refrain from conducting any power outages throughout the country on the occasion of 9th and 10th Muharram-ul-Haram. 

The ministry has issued instructions for all power generating companies in the country to not conduct load-shedding ahead of the 9th and 10th Muharram processions which will be held all across Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the first meeting of the Punjab provincial cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi decided to suspend all communication services in Punjab for 9th and 10th Muharram-ul-Haram.

The Punjab cabinet approved a fool-proof security plan for the processions which are to be held on 9th and 10th Muharram-ul-Haram to be conducted safely and peacefully.

Newly-elected Chief Minister Punjab, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi directed provincial ministers, advisors and bureaucrats to monitor security arrangements in their respective districts in order to protect the lives and property of the people.

Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said that regular meetings should be held at district level to ensure the safe conduct of Ashura processions. The provincial chief added that all law enforcement agencies should work in close cooperation with each other and security arrangements should be regularly monitored.
