No one to be allowed to disturb peace of city: CCPO

Lahore: CCPO Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has issued directions to Lahore police to remain highly alert in wake of the present law and order situation. He has said that no one would be allowed to disturb the peace of the city as Lahore police would ensure safety and security of the citizens at every cost. He was presiding over a high level meeting of the senior officers of all the wings of Lahore Police here today. DIG Investigation Shariq Jamal, DIG Operations Sohail Chaudhary, SSsP as well as SsP of Investigation and Operations wings and other related officers attended the meeting. CCPO Lahore reviewed the overall law and order situation of the provincial capital along with evaluated the performance of all the units of Lahore police. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said, maintenance of law and order, prevention and detection of crime as well as citizens centric smart policing are the top priorities of Lahore Police. Investigation Wing has been strengthened to improve its performance by providing additional human resource and enhancing capacity building. The CCPO directed the police officers to continue holding Khuli Katcehri (Open Courts) in different areas of the city on regular basis to listen to the problems of the citizens at their door stepsand take immediate action for the redress of their grievances. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar further directed to improve the role of different level Peace Committees by increasing the representation of all the sects and religions so as to make their role more affective and active in maintenance of peace and reform of society. CCPO Lahore directed concerned police officers to continue strict crackdown against organized crimes including drug peddlers involved in selling narcotics in the city as well as around educational institutions. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar directed SDPOs and In charges investigation to improve their performance in investigation and challaning ratio in different under investigation cases to ensure conviction rate. CCPO Lahore directed police officers to improve patrolling mechanism and focus on crime hotspots including and remote areas as well as suburbs of the city to control crime. Combing and intelligence based search and sweep operations around sensitive establishments, residential areas, hotels, hostels, bus terminals, railway stations and other important places should be continued in the city to free the city from habitual criminals, proclaimed offenders and court absconders, CCPO Lahore added. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar urged the police officers to continue dealing with iron hands the land grabbers and goons to retrieve the occupied land and property of poor city.

Meanwhile,Lahore Police  carried out a grand flag march in different areas of the city, in wake of the present law and order situation and to instil confidence and sense of security among the citizens. Capital City Police Officer Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar led the flag march whereas DIG Investigation Shariq Jamal, DIG Operations Sohail Chaudhary, CTO Lahore Muntazir Mehdi,SP Dolphin Squad Rashid Hidayat m, SP Traffic Asif Saddique, and other senior police officers also participated in the flag march. Contingents of Dolphin Squad, Elite Force, traffic police, Elite Force, Police Response Unit and Ababeel Force were part of the flag march. Police March started from District Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh, went through different important roads and areas of the city including Haji Camp,Lakshami Chowk, Mall Road, Lower Mall,Outfall Road, Band Road,Lahore Ring Road and other areas of the city. The CCPO Lahore, prior to the flag march addressed to different units of police force and said,Lahore Police has the foremost responsibility to maintain law and order in the city and protect the life and properties of the citizens. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said, ” We will not let anyone disturb the peace of the city and deal with anti peace elements with iron hands”. The purpose of the flag march is to create sense of security among citizens as our prime duty, CCPO added. Lahore Police is round the clock alert and ready for the protection of life and property of citizens, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar urged. Commander Lahore Police further said police will not compromise at all on the safety and security of the citizens and will not let anyone disturb the peace of the city at any cost. He directed the concerned police officers and officials to remain highly alert and increase effective patrolling to ensure safety of people and foil nefarious designs of anti peace elements.
