Lahore High Court (LHC) Tuesday rejected the plea to stop the arrest of former Punjab chief minister Pervaiz Elahi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

While hearing the plea against the raid of Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) and police on the house of Pervaiz Elahi in Lahore, the LHC issued notice to the ACE director general and other respondents in the case and sought a reply from them by May 8 next.

The court also sought the details of the cases registered against Pervaiz Elahi and adjourned further hearing of the case till May 8, 2023.

Meanwhile, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore granted bail to the 15 suspects arrested during the raid on Pervaiz Elahi’s house on the condition of submitting Rs100,000 worth of surety bonds each.

The lawyers for the accused had filed a post-arrest bail plea. ATC Judge Ijaz Ahmad Buttar pronounced the verdict, granting bail to the accused.

Mumtaz Hussain, Muhammad Sabir, Munir Ahmed, Masood Ahmed and Malik Ashiq were among those who had been arrested.
