Noor Muqadam case: Notices issued on cancellation of bail of therapy workers

Aug 27, 2021: The bail application of the employees of therapy works in the Zahir Jaffer trial for murdering Noor Muqaddam, was heard in Islamabad.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to Shaukat Muqaddam (father of Noor Muqaddam) on a petition seeking revocation of bail. The Islamabad High Court sought record of the case and reply from all the accused.
In Noor Muqaddam murder case, the father of the victim had approached the court to cancel the bail of the employees and owner of the therapy works. That the Additional District and Sessions Judge did not meet the requirements of justice, the court disregarded the rules and regulations laid down by the Supreme Court while granting bail, the accused were present on the spot.
The petition filed in the court further said that the facts about the injury of accused Amjad Mahmood were hidden in the hospital, the accused also hid the facts of cancellation of bail of Zakir Jaffer and Ismat Adam and now the accused are threatening the petitioner, not cancel the bail. This can cause irreparable damage to the applicant.
It may be recalled that the Additional Sessions Judge of Islamabad, Attar Bani, while granting bail to the accused, had ordered the accused to submit a bond of Rs 50lakh. The role of the applicant in Noor Muqaddam’s murder, attempt to destroy evidence of the accused will be decided during the trial.
The court ruled that the owner or employees of the therapy works were not present at the time of Noor Muqaddam’s murder. According to records, the main accused Zahir Jaffer injured the therapy works employee Amjad. According to the prosecution, Therapy Works team went to destroy evidence at the scene.
The verdict said that before reaching the spot, the therapy works team had knowledge of the murder or not, it will be decided in the trial, bail of the accused in exchange for bail bonds of Rs 50 lakh.
It should be noted that the daughter of the former ambassador was killed in the area of Kohsar police station in Islamabad. Noor Muqaddam has been killed and my daughter’s throat was slit when I arrived at the scene
A case of murder of Noor Muqaddam, daughter of former ambassador of Pakistan Shaukat Ali Muqaddam has been registered in Kohsar police station, police said.
