Noor Muqaddam murder case: Main accused’s statement presented in court

According to Baaghi TV reports, the Noor Muqaddam murder case was heard in Sessions Court Islamabad. Accused Zahir Jaffer’s lawyer, submitted a USB (universal serial bus) to the court. When Additional Sessions Judge Ata Rabbani asked, “What is in this USB?” Jaffer’s lawyer stated that the USB contains videos related to Jaffer and Noor Muqaddam.

The main accused in the Noor Muqaddam murder case, Zahir Zakir Jaffer, was presented in court. According to reports, the accused Jaffer claimed innocence and stated that he and his associates are being dragged into the case. According to Zahir Jaffer, 27-year-old Noor Muqaddam forced him to book a flight to the US and promised that she would travel with him to the United States (US). Noor called our friends and asked them to buy the tickets, we left for the airport but Noor turned the taxi towards the house and I couldn’t stop, added Zahir Jaffer.

According to reports, Zahir Jaffer has attempted to manipulate court proceedings once again. In his statement to the court, Jaffer claimed that on the 20th of July, he arranged a party and invited their friends. He added that when the party started, he became intoxicated by the drugs and lost consciousness. “When I came to, I saw police officers dressed in uniform and in regular clothes, and later found out that Noor had been killed by someone at the party”, stated Zahir Jaffer, the main accused.

In addition, Zahir Jaffer said, “My parents are innocent, because of the influence of the plaintiff I have been involved and the state machinery has been used against me”. According to reports, Jaffer requested that evidence be presented, before the court, in his defense. 

It is pertinent to note that former Ambassador Shaukat Ali Muqaddam’s daughter was killed last year. Shaukat Muqaddam’s, 27-year-old daughter who was killed in the jurisdiction of Kohsar police station Islamabad, while giving a statement regarding the murder said he had received a call from Kohsar police station that his daughter had been killed. He added that when “I arrived at the scene, my daughter’s throat was slit”.

According to Baaghi TV reports, a case of murder of Noor Muqaddam has been registered in Kohsar police station. Police say a case has been registered under Section 302 of the IPC on the complaint of the girl’s father Shaukat Ali Muqaddam.
