Notable personalities express deepest condolences to Shaan
Lahore, 31st January: Notable personalities from all fields of industry in Pakistan have expressed their deepest condolences with the actor, Shaan Shahid after his mother passed away on Saturday.
Baaghi TV: Renowned Pakistani film actress Neelo Begum died on 30th of January 2021 at the age 80.
Sources said that she had been suffering from cancer since long.
Neelo Begum was born on 30 June 1940 in Bhera, Sargodha. At 16 years of age, she played a small role in ‘Bhowani Junction’ in 1956, a Hollywood film shot in and around Lahore.
She got her big breakthrough in Pakistani films when she performed on the song ‘Aaye Mausam, Rangilay Suhanay’ in the film ‘Saat Lakh’ in 1957 by the renowned music director Rasheed Attre.
Neelo Begum’s son, the renowned Pakistani film star confirmed the news of her death through his Twitter account yesterday:

It is to be noted that the legendary artist Neelo Begum was born into a Catholic family and christened Cynthia Alexander Fernandes. She adopted the name Abida Riaz after accepting Islam at the time of her marriage to film screenwriter and director Riaz Shahid.
