KHUZDAR: One succumbed while several got injured as a grenade attack struck Khuzdar, Balochistan on Wesnesday.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Khuzdar Mohammad Ilyas Kibzai confirmed the news, adding that the incident occurred at Khuzdar’s Azadi Chowk. The DC said that further probe into the incident is currently underway.
According to Mohammad Ilyas Kibzai, the injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Khuzdar for immediate medical attention as condition of two victims was critical.
Chief minister of Balochistan Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo condemned the grenade attack, according to an official statement released by his office.
Bizenjo expressed deep sorrow over the incident and regretted the loss of life which was brought about by the attack. The chief minister added that those subjecting innocent civilians to terrorism do not deserve any sort of leniency.
The provincial chief directed police and administration officials of Khuzdar district to conduct a thorough probe into the unfortunate incident and bring those involved to justice.
Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo also directed the law enforcement agencies and other relevant departments to strengthen security measures in Khuzdar and the entire province.
The chief minister instructed the relevant officials to treat the victims of the Khuzdar grenade attack with the utmost care and that they be provided with the best facilities available.
