Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif meets Asif Ali Zardari
LAHORE: Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari met at Bilawal House in Lahore to discuss the economic situation of the country as well as the ‘no-confidence’ motion and other options.
According to sources, Former President Asif Ali Zardari was received at the National Assembly by Leader of Opposition and PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif. Thereafter, the opposition leader accompanied the delegation to Bilawal House in Lahore where he was received by Asif Ali Zardari along with other PPP leaders.
Apart from PML-N and PPP, leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam were also present in the meeting.

According to a joint statement issued after the meeting of the opposition leaders, the participants held important consultations on decisive action regarding the ‘no-confidence’ motion. The statement said that the fire of inflation was burning in the homes of the people and the people could be saved from this tyranny by sending the government home.
According to the joint statement, the leaders agreed that they would work hard to fulfill the aspirations of the people and would give results soon. Asif Ali Zardari, Shahbaz Sharif, Fazlur Rehman and Bilawal Bhutto have agreed to hold a joint meeting tomorrow and this meeting of senior leadership of the three parties will be held at Shahbaz Sharif’s residence tomorrow afternoon, as mentioned in the statement.
It was agreed in the meeting that facism and dictatorship have been named as Kopika Amendment Law. Therefore, those who snatch away freedom of media and expression are a threat to meritocracy in the country.

During the meeting, the leaders expressed concern over lack of sophisticated implementation of law and said that the government had failed to meet the basic needs of the people.
It may be recalled that a no-confidence motion has been announced by the opposition parties against the government and in this regard, meetings are being held between the opposition leaders and the ruling coalition parties.
