Opposition leaders arrive for National Assembly Session

According to Baaghi TV reports, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaders Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari, and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Shehbaz Sharif have reached the Parliament House.

According to reports, PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif said that the parliamentary body will formulate the strategy for the meeting. When asked if ‘backdoor’ issues were being settled, Sharif responded, “Who told you this?” Meanwhile, former President and PPP leader Asif Zardari said “In shaa Allah, things will be better”.

PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that in the likelihood, a member of Parliament passes away, the session is adjourned till the next day. If the session is adjourned till tomorrow, we do not mind, however, if the meeting is adjourned for longer then we will have a problem. A session has to be convened, how long till we can deviate from the Constitution?

Also, Member National Assembly (MNA), Qadir Khan Mandokhail said that security should be tightened but the government should control its people. They have till the 28th to do so. Meanwhile, PPP leader Agha Rafiullah said that the government is confused. Their legs are trembling in fear of the rally.

According to reports, the National Assembly (NA) will convene at 11 a.m. today after a no-confidence motion was filed by the Opposition parties. Speaker NA Asad Qaiser will preside over the NA session which will include recitation of Surah Fatiha for the deceased member National Assembly, Khayal Zaman Orakzai. In addition, the no-confidence motion against the Prime Minister is also on the agenda. Following the Fatiha khawani, members of the National Assembly will express their views regarding Orakzai.

The agenda states the Parliament House is of the opinion that Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, has lost the confidence of the House. 152 members to table the no-confidence motion against the PM.

Furthermore, strict security measures have been put in place for the session. According to reports, the MNAs will not be allowed to go in on their vehicles, instead, a shuttle service will be operated. The MNAs will be required to park their cars in designated parking lots. Special guidelines have been issued for the session, according to which, the Red Zone has been sealed, and visitors have been barred from entering the Parliament.

Moreover, employees of the NA Secretariat have been directed to remain confined to their respective staff. On the other hand, entry and departure to the Red Zone are only allowed via Margalla Road. Srinagar Chowk, Nadra Chowk, and Express Chowk have been closed.
