Lahore 28 August (Online Int’l): Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that the opposition’s attitude on FATF was not in the country’s interest and said the opposition should give priority to national interest over personal and political interests.

The governor said this during his meeting with Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak who called on him at the Governor House Lahore on Friday. According to details, national and political matters came under discussion during this meeting.

Chaudhry Sarwar said that the PTI government is united under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Our government has no danger from within or outside the parliament. The PTI government and Prime Minister Imran Khan will complete the term till 2023. Governor Punjab said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has no personal agenda. He is only working for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan. He said that this is not the right time for political point-scoring; therefore the opposition should not only support the legislation regarding FATF but they should also play a positive role in the country’s unity because it is the need of the hour.

The governor said that the supremacy of law and order is the topmost priority of the PTI government. The government is taking practical steps to strengthen institutions so that accountability can be ensured at every level. It is unfortunate that some elements cannot tolerate a successfully progressive Pakistan and they want instability to prevail in the country but we will not let this happen at any cost.

Chaudhry Sarwar said that the government is working vigorously to strengthen Pakistan economically due to which there has been a considerable decrease in the current account deficit. He said that the World’s Economic organisations are also praising the economic upswing of Pakistan. Pakistan is moving forward on the road to progress, he added.

Pervaiz Khattak said that the PTI government is making a progressive and prosperous Pakistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan is a politician of principles. We will resolve the economic and other issues of Pakistan. For the first time in Pakistan, we are taking practical steps to strengthen national organisations. Pakistan has a future full of progress and prosperity, he added.
