Pak-Iran travel “Raahdari” to remain closed for 16 days

Pakistan-Iran traveling gate near Taftan area of Chaghi district  in Baluchistan will remain closed for 16 days from today.

Pakistan and Iran shares 800 Km long border.Both countries have made “Raahdari” at different points of border for the people from both sides to travel into and out of Pakistan and Iran.

Pakistan and Iran jointly announced that Taftan Gate will remain closed for next 16 days due to security situation and passes given will be expired.

In February Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost called for need of new travel gates to increase bilateral relations and trade. This will also increase people to people contact making ties between iran and Pakistan more stronger and reliable.

The ambassador to Islamabad had proposed the crossing points at Mand-Pishin and Gabd-Rimdan, saying that these two points have immense potential to improve relations between two countries.
