Pak v Bangladesh: Shaheen Afridi fifer leads Pakistan to dominate day four #Baaghi

Nov 29, 2021: Pakistan will need 202 runs to win the first Test match against Bangladesh as spinner Sajid Khan and pacer Shaheen Afridi shake up the Bangladesh batting order to restrict the hosts’ lead to 201.

The fourth day of the first Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh resumed on a good note for the visitors on Monday when fast bowler Hassan Ali gave an early lead to the Men in Green after which Sajid Khan dismissed Mehdi Hassan.

Bangladesh, batting for survival and providing a batting total to Pakistan, had lost five wickets before reaching the three figure mark on the scoreboard. Hassan Ali bowled Mushfiqur Rahim during the first session to take the fifth Bangladeshi wicket, adding to the difficulties for the hosts.

First innings hero Lytton Das was dismissed by clinical Shaheen Afridi, who took another fifer. Shaheen then bowled Abu Jayid before Sajid Khan bowled Tejul Islam for 201 to dismiss Bangladesh.

A day earlier, Bangladesh bowled out Pakistan for 286 on the third day at tea time to take a 44-run lead in the second innings thanks to a stunning bowling performance by Taijul who finished with 7 for 116.

But Pakistan made a brilliant counter-attack when Shaheen Afridi dismissed Shadman Islam (one), Najam Hussain (zero) and Saif Hassan (18) to end the day 3-6 and reduce Bangladesh to 39-4 on stumps.

Hassan Ali also snatched the advantage of the hosts by dismissing wicket captain Mominul Haq at zero. Mushfiqur Rahim remained unbeaten on 12 runs with debutant Yasir Ali.
