Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that floods have caused large-scale damage in Pakistan, crops standing on 40 lakh acres in the country have been destroyed.
Addressing the ongoing Climate Implementation Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the flood caused a loss of more than 30 billion dollars to the Pakistani economy, and the world must focus on environmental justice.
He said that Pakistan is one of the top countries affected by climate change, Pakistan’s share in carbon emissions is less than one percent.
He said that we have to take steps for the safe future of future generations, the world should take steps to avoid climate change.
He further said that relief and rehabilitation work is going on rapidly in the flood affected areas, all possible resources are being used for the rehabilitation of the victims.
