Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has said serving Hajj pilgrims is a form of worship, and striving for the welfare of people with sincerity is also an act of devotion.
Speaking at a reception at Darul Uloom Mansehra, the Minister highlighted the significant reforms undertaken under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership to improve the Hajj experience for Pakistani pilgrims.
He acknowledged that addressing the shortcomings of past administrations in managing Hajj services was a major challenge.
Sardar Yousaf also shared that public trust in the Ministry of Religious Affairs has been restored, as evidenced by a record number of over 450,000 applications received for Hajj registration this year.
He noted that Pakistan has formally requested the Saudi government to increase the Hajj quota to 230,000, in proportion to the country’s population, to allow more people to undertake the pilgrimage.
