Pakistan to celebrate Eid tomorrow

Lahore, 23rd May: According to the latest reports, Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Sunday in Pakistan.

According to the report of Baaghi TV, Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow in Pakistan, after the Shawwal moon was sighted late today.

 

Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said, “The weather was clear at most places in Pakistan. There were reports of moon sightings from Pasni and from other places.”

Earlier, a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held under the chairmanship of Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman at the Karachi office of the Meteorological Department to observe the Shawwal moon.

Meetings of Zonal Committees of Ruet-e-Hilal were also held in other provinces of the country.

It may be recalled that Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry had said that according to the lunar calendar prepared by his ministry, Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated in Pakistan tomorrow (May 24).

Government announces to celebrate Eid with simplicity

During a press conference in Islamabad, he said that the moon could be seen in Sanghar, Pasni, Jwani, Badin and Thatta between 7:36 am and 8:14 am today.

The Minister for Science and Technology said that Mufti Popalzai has announced to celebrate Eid in Peshawar tomorrow though there is no possibility of moon sighting in Peshawar even today.

Reacting to the announcement of Eid date by Fawad Chaudhry, Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri said that the Shariah decision of Eid would be taken by the Central Ruwit Hilal Committee in Karachi today.

He said that the Shariah decision of Eid would be taken by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee in Karachi today and the people and government of Pakistan would celebrate Eid as per the decision of the committee.

Noor-ul-Haq Qadri said that Shariat and religion rely on the sighting of the moon, science and modern tools can be used for the sighting and martyrdom.

It should be noted that the meteorological department had shown less chance of seeing the moon today.
