The Pakistani government is to facilitate travel for the Afghan students having valid admissions in Pakistani academic institutions.

“New academic session in various academic institutions of Pakistan has started,” the Pakistan embassy in Kabul said in a statement. “The Afghan students having valid admissions in Pakistani academic under a scholarship program or one self-finance basis are requested to register with the embassy so that authorities in Pakistan could be approached for facilitation in crossing borders enabling them to join their institution.”

This comes as Pakistan has closed Torkham gate, one of the main crossing points between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Based on mutual interests between the two countries, tens of Afghan students are provided by the Pakistani government with educational scholarship.
