We are not Shifting Series to a Neutral Venue, Pakistan Cricket Board clears
LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that it will not shift the upcoming home series against Sri Lanka to a neutral venue, it will be played in Pakistan.
According to details Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board Ehsan Mani has made it clear that series against Sri Lanka will be played in Pakistan. “We are not shifting this series to a neutral venue.” he said. Sri Lanka’s tour was in extreme danger as 10 Sri Lankan players decided to opt out of the tour due to security issues. Moreover, Sri Lanka’s tour to Pakistan appeared well on track before their Prime Minister’s Office received reliable information of a possible terrorist threat on their team, while touring Pakistan. Following this, Sri Lanka Cricket said that they need to “reassess” their plan for the Pakistan tour.
Reportedly, Sri Lanka will be touring Pakistan to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20I matches, starting from 27th September to 9th October, 2019.
