ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari has said that search and rescue teams have been called for the search and rescue teams of Ali Sadpara and his fellow climbers.

Syed Zulfi Bukhari has reassured that Prime Minister Imran Khan and Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa are deeply concerned over the disappearance of Pakistani climbers Ali Sadpara and his associates and are monitoring their search.

“The weather is not good so the mission is not easy,” he wrote on Twitter. We have the support of the Pakistan Army and will do our best to bring the climbers back safely.

Three climbers, including Pakistani mountaineer Muhammad Ali Sadpara, who tried to conquer the world’s second-highest mountain K2 in the winter, have lost contact with the base camp, team and family since Friday.
During the rescue mission, Army helicopters flew at an altitude of 7,000 meters, but no trace of the three mountains has been found so far.

Dawa Sherpa, manager of Seven Summit Tracks, who is at the K2 base camp, recently reported on his Instagram that an Army helicopter had flown at an altitude of about 7,000 meters and had returned to Skardu.

“Unfortunately, they did not find any trace and the weather is getting very bad in the mountains and even in the base camp.” We are waiting for further progress but the weather and wind are not allowing it to move

Muhammad Ali Sadpara’s son Sajid Sadpara has reached Camp One safely and will soon reach the Advanced Base Camp.

Earlier on Saturday, tweets from the Alpine Club said the three climbers had been cut off since Friday.

The temperature on the mountain is very low while the wind speed in the area above 6500 meters is more than 35 kilometers per hour. According to the club, oxygen bottles, masks, regulators and other equipment have been prepared in the base camp.

Similarly, from Muhammad Ali Sadpara’s account, his representative Rao Ahmed tweeted, “We are still trying to contact Ali, Jan Sunori and JP Mohar, but all security arrangements have been made.” The last contact with them was at one o’clock in the night and then at four o’clock in the morning.
