Pakistanis stranded in India to be repatriated soon

Lahore, 31st August: 200 Pakistanis stranded in India due to the suspension of train service in both the countries will return home on September 3.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, at least 200 Pakistanis stranded in India due to the coronavirus lockdown will return to Pakistan on September 3.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, Pakistan had sealed its border with India from March 2020. As a result, people who have gone to India got stuck there due to the lockdown in both countries.

Indian troops came under grenade attack in IIOJK

Train service between Pakistan and India was suspended on August 15 after the coronavirus outbreak, leaving hundreds of Pakistanis stranded on the other side of the border.

Pakistanis, stranded in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Rajasthan, will return via the Wagha border. The border between the two countries will especially be opened for them.

Earlier, on May 27, the Indian government had facilitated the return of 179 Pakistanis to their country through the land border.

PIA Operating Special Flights for Repatriation of Stranded Pakistanis

On May 28, 300 Indian nationals returned to their country after both the countries eased lockdown restrictions during the pandemic.

According to a source in the foreign office, the return of 200 Pakistani nationals from India is made possible because of the efforts of the Pakistani High Commission in India. The repatriation will take place via the Attari-Wagah Border on September 3rd.
