PTI President Chaudhry Parvaiz Elahi has been re-arrested once again on Friday.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to release PTI President Parvez Elahi.
Justice Amjad Rafiq was hearing a petition of Elahi against his arrest in an alleged corruption case by the NAB. Announcing the verdict, the judge barred authorities from arresting the former chief minister of Punjab in any other case.
Elahi is among several PTI leaders and workers who have been arrested amid the state’s crackdown on the PTI leadership following the May 9 riots during protests over party chief Imran Khan being whisked away by paramilitary personnel at the Islamabad High Court premises.
