As the third wave continues to affect people in Pakistan, 43 deaths and 4,000 new patients reported.
According to reports, the total number of deaths is reported to be 14,821 while active COVID-19 cases are 61,650 patients. Meanwhile, 615,960 patients have recovered since the outbreak last year.
Provincial statistics show most number of deaths in Punjab, 6,587. While, the most reported cases confirmed in Sindh, 266,618. Meanwhile, 26 districts have been declared as high risk areas.
In lieu of the alarming situation, the Pakistan government has urged citizens to ventilate their homes, and to avoid crowded places. Moreover, they have advised the public to wear a mask, maintain social distance and wash hands frequently for at least 20 seconds.
According to reports, strict action will taken against those who violate the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
