19th August: Paulo Coelho has urged people to send books to Balochistan, Pakistan.

According to the report of Baaghi TV, Paulo Coelho, the acclaimed Brazilian lyricist, and novelist, best known for his work ‘The Alchemist’, has appealed to the people to send books to Balochistan.

The acclaimed novelist took to his Twitter account and wrote a post, “Send books to Balochistan, they’re building reading rooms.”

This comes as the Local community members in the province have initiated one-room libraries in different parts of Balochistan including Naal, Wadh, Awaran, Quetta, Kohlu, Turbat and Gwadar in an effort to make reading material more accessible for the youth.

Reportedly, a number of students from different universities in Wadh, Balochistan have developed a Wadh student library committee and they are transforming many abandoned places into small libraries and reading corners.
