Pemra issues show-cause notice to ARY for airing racists remarks in Kashif Abbasi show
The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) on Thursday issued a show-cause notice to ARY News for airing what it called was “abusive and racist’ comments during the programme Off The Record and sought reply within seven days.
The Pemra in it’s show-cause notice said that the airing of abusive and discriminatory comments by the guests and even the TV host was also laughing on such derogatory remarks.
Pemra said that the incident has proved that ARY editorial policy and Time Delay Mechanism has been failed miserably.
The media regulator said that the airing of such comments were violation of pemra rules and Court orders.
The notice reads that ARY News on aired racist or hateful remarks in it’s program Off The Record aired on 5 Oct 22.

The Pemra has directed ARY News to edit or delete hateful remarks from progm and appear for personal hearing at PEMRA HQs on 13 Oct.
