PEMRA orders ban on all media coverage of banned Tehreek-e-Labaik

ISLAMABAD: PEMRA has issued an order banning all media coverage of the banned Tehreek-e-Libaik. 

According to details, PEMRA has issued special guidelines for all TV channels and FM radio. PAMRA has directed that according to the Media Code of Conduct, media coverage of banned organizations is not allowed in any case, and since Tehreek-e-Libek has been banned by the government, TV channels and FM radio will not be able to cover any news regarding TLP.

It should be noted that the religious party Tehreek-e-Lubaik Pakistan has been formally banned by the government of Pakistan.

On Thursday, the Federal Ministry of Home Affairs, after approval from the Federal Cabinet, issued a notification declaring Tehreek-e-Libek null and void under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997. In the notification, the Interior Ministry also stated the reasons for declaring Tehreek-e-Libek.
