People are being deceived through use of word cadet by private colleges in Chakwal, Jhelum: Petitioner

ISLAMABAD, August 24 (Online):  The Supreme Court (SC) has directed the petitioner to come prepared on next hearing in respect of petition filed by him against use of the word cadet by the private cadet colleges.

A two members bench of SC comprising Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Qazi Amin  took up the case for hearing Monday.

The  counsel for the petitioner took the plea during the course of hearing  that the private colleges are deceiving the people by using the word cadet in Jhelum and Chakwal. Army’s prestige is being hurt due to use of word cadet by the private colleges. The use of word cadet by private colleges leads the parents of students that their children will become soldier after passing the examination in these colleges. These private educational institutions impart military training to the students in military uniform. They are receiving fee Rs 80000 per  month.

Justice Mushir Alam raised the question if such laws are there which impose ban on use of word cadet. There are such words in the constitution which are banned to be used. Can some one use the name of some one else as per law. The respective high court  has given decision in regard to name of a housing society. We want the petitioner should help us in the perspective of law. .

Justice Qazi Amin remarked “ the private army cannot be kept as per law. Use of military uniform at private level is banned in our country as per constitution.

The court while directing the petitioner to appear on next hearing well prepared adjourned the hearing of the case for indefinite period.
