People should refrain from public places on Eid to avoid COVID-19, Asad Umar
According to a Baaghi TV report, a meeting of the National Command and Control Center (NCOC), which was set up with reference to the corona virus, took place.
Federal Minister Asad Omar presided over the meeting. The forum was briefed on the implementation of security measures in cattle markets on Eid-ul-Adha and especially on violations. It was informed in the briefing that violations of security measures have been observed in different provinces. Illegal cattle markets across Pakistan were closed, fined and legal action was taken. The forum was briefed on the observation of violations through the use of digital technology in shopping plazas, vegetable markets and cattle markets.
Addressing the meeting, Federal Minister Asad Omar said that as per the directive of the Prime Minister, we should celebrate this Eid with simplicity. Don’t go to places of entertainment and avoid gatherings, public or otherwise, on Eid. The epidemic can be controlled by following the protocols of social distancing in prayer and following the instructions given.
Asad Omar said that all possible security measures would be taken in the cattle markets. 527 points have been sealed across the country for violating Corona virus SOPs, out of which 269 were sealed in Punjab, 255 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 3 in Islamabad.
21,755 fines were imposed for violation of SOPs with reference to cattle markets.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan in his message to the nation said that Eid-ul-Adha is coming and I appeal to all not to do what they did on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Don’t do what you did on the last Eid. On the last Eid we showed negligence. It was not taken into account that this virus spreads faster than people gather in one place.
PM Imran Khan said that due to our negligence, the virus spread very fast on the occasion of Eid. As a result, our hospitals and front line workers came under pressure and unfortunately the death toll increased and the virus reached its peak. After Eid, smart lockdown and other measures reduced the number of corona cases.
