Lahore, 31st January: Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak has clarified his recent statement made on the current government.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak said on Saturday that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government will not survive a single day if I don’t want it to.

The former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister was addressing the PTI workers in Nowshera where he spoke about the incumbent government.

Speaking about the Opposition, Khattak said that they respected him which is why he also had regard for parliamentarians.

He said that PTI government would not last a day if he didn’t want it to and added, “No one can cheat me when it comes to politics.”

However, Khattak has clarified that he is with the premier all the way and said that PM Khan had bestowed a lot of favours on him.

The former CM KP turned his guns towards the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and accused it of trying to pressurise the government to hide their corruption.

He said, “There are internal rifts within the PDM. Very soon, their artificial alliance will meet its fate.”

Khattak also blamed Opposition parties for having a role in creating the current inflation in the country saying that it was the predecessor governments’ policies that had brought Pakistan to its current state.

A few hours after the Khattak’s above-mentioned statement started doing the rounds on social media, the defence minister took to his Twitter account to issue a clarification.

Khattak tweeted that he was sincere and indebted to Imran Khan.

He wrote, “Clearly mentioned in my speech for the locals of my village in Nowshera that I’m sincere and indebted to Imran Khan. We are successful in our constituency due to our efforts and the support of IK. We will defeat all opposition parties ganged up against the candidate we are supporting for the by-election.”
