Lahore, 9th July: Pet dogs that attacked a lawyer in Karachi’s residential area have been ordered to put down.
According to reports, last month the pet dogs that attacked Advocate Mirza Ali Akhtar in the Phase 6 area of Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority will be euthanized.
The decision was made on Friday after the owner of the pet dogs and the victim reached an agreement.
According to details, after the attack on the lawyer, a case was registered against the dogs’ owner, Humayun Khan.

Following the case, an Additional District and Session’s Judge South issued orders to arrest him.
However, according to an agreement made on June 6, 2021, Mirza Akhtar Ali, son of Mirza Akbar Ali, agreed to forgive Humayun Khan, son of Noor Khan, for Allah’s sake under the following conditions:
- Humayun Khan offers an unconditional apology to Mirza Akhtar Ali for hurting him and causing him injuries.
- Humayun Khan and his family will not keep any dangerous or ferocious dogs as pets in their home. Any other dogs kept as pets will be registered with the Clifton Cantonment Board and will not go out on streets without a properly trained handler and shall be leashed at all times when they are outside.
- The two dogs involved in the incident shall be euthanized/put down by a veterinarian immediately. Any other such dogs that Humayun Khan has shall be given away.
- Humayun Khan will also make a donation of Rs 1,000,000 to the Ayesha Chundrigar Foundation ACF Animal Rescue.
It is to be noted that last month Karachi’s Clifton Cantonment Board had made registration of pet dogs mandatory, after the horrific incident of the attack on the lawyer by pet dogs.
