Petition filed against screening of ISPR’s ‘Ehd-e-Wafa’
Lahore (17th Feb, 2020): A petition has reportedly been filed against Inter-Services Public Relations’ (ISPR) latest production of Ehd-e-Wafa.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, a petition has been filed against ISPR’s latest drama serial Ehd-e-Wafa, in the Lahore High Court. The petition was filed against the role of politicians and the media in the popular series. The petition which was filed by Muhammad Zeeshan was presided over by Justice Shahid Waheed. The applicant has argued against the ‘characterization’ of politicians and media in the drama series.

Moreover, the petition further added that the role of politicians in the drama is affecting Pakistan’s image in the outside world. Thereby, the petition requests that the Lahore High Court order a ban on the drama aired in collaboration between HUM media group and ISPR. The court has directed the petitioner to set a hearing soon, as per reports.

According to Baaghi TV’s reports, the ISPR drama is not only being viewed in India but, that it is reportedly very popular there. Written by Mustafa Afridi and directed by Saife Hassan, the ISPR production is gaining recognition cross-border. Major General, DG ISPR has reportedly shared a video on Instagram to highlight the rising popularity of the series.
