Pharmaceutical companies have decided not to increase the prices of medicines till September 30th this year.
A spokesman for the Ministry of National Health said in a statement that the prices of medicines would not be increased in the first quarter of the current financial year.
According to the spokesperson, under the April 2018 drug policy, pharmaceutical companies can increase prices by 7 to 10 percent and increase based on the annual consumer price index.
A spokesman for the health ministry praised the decision by pharmaceutical companies not to raise prices.
In this regard, Chairman Punjab Chemists and Drugs Association Zahid Bakhtawari said that the government had demanded not to increase the prices of medicines which was accepted due to the situation in Coronavirus.
