PHD eases COVID-19 restrictions in Punjab

The Punjab Health Department (PHD) has issued a notification regarding smart lockdown across the province and announced to ease down COVID-19 restrictions.

According to the notification, markets and bazaars will be open till 10 pm and will be closed on Sundays, while indoor dining with 50% vaccinated people will continue till 12 am and outdoor dining will continue till 12 am.

The PHD notification said that only 200 vaccinated people will be allowed to participate in indoor wedding ceremonies while 400 people will be able to participate in outdoor wedding ceremonies.

According to the notification, shrines across the province will also be open from September 23, but vaccinated people over the age of 30 will be able to visit the shrines. The PHD also said that a complete ban on cinemas would be maintained and the contact sports festivals and social events would also remain banned.

The notification also allows only the vaccinated people to go to the gym. Furthermore, PHD states that all private and government offices will be able to function as per normal with 100% staff.

The notification said that all types of public transport will run with 50 per cent passenger capacity while trains will run with 70 per cent passenger capacity. Lastly, it is said that the water sports and recreational places will also be able to open with 50% capacity. These PHD orders will be implemented across the province from September 23.
