PIA all set for IATA Operational Safety Audit

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has completed its preparations regarding the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit (IOSA).

According to the details, the IOSA team will conduct an operational safety audit of the national airline from September 7 to September 12, 2020. The audit team will also visit Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Multan airports.

The foreign team will audit all PIA departments, including key departments of PIA’s Flight Operations, Passenger Services, Safety and Security Engineering. The purpose of the audit is to check the safety standards and aircraft of PIA, the airlines are reviewed every two years.

Chief executive officer (CEO) of the national airline, Air Marshal (retd) Arshad Mehmood Malik made a detailed tour of all operational installations prior to the audit. Malik also briefed the heads of engineering, ramp services and flight safety on audit preparations.

IOSA to conduct complete audit of PIA for aviation safety

Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan instructed to remove all the inoperable aircraft and equipment on ramps after which the CEO PIA directed Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials to immediately do so.

Arshad Malik expresses satisfaction over the preparation of relevant departments and urges to further improve initiatives.
