Aslam R. Khan, a veteran aviation professional, has been appointed as the Chairman of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
According to the details, federal cabinet has approved the extension of Aslam R. Khan as chairman of the national flag carrier for another year. Khan has served as the Managing Director of PIA Investments Limited (PIAIL) for fourteen years. Presently, he’s member PIA Board of Directors since October 20, 2020.
The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, said Federal Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Tuesday.

Khan is a corporate aviation veteran with over three decades of multi-faceted airline experience as he started his career with Lufthansa and then moved to PIA Corporation Limited (PIACL). In the national carrier, he held senior positions both in Pakistan and abroad.
As the MD PIAIL for fourteen years, he has the achievement of 700 million dollars successful turnaround of the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, transforming it into a highly profitable asset.

Furthermore, the federal cabinet has also approved a three-month extension in the tenure of Asif Rauf as chairman of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP).
