PIA employees to be dismissed
Lahore, 11th November: A bad news for the employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
Baaghi TV: A plan has been made to send three and a half thousand PIA employees home. The Economic Co-ordination Committee will approve the retirement expenses of the employees.
According to the document, a voluntary separation scheme has been prepared to send PIA employees home. PIA has demanded Rs 12.87 billion from the government under the scheme. Under the Voluntary Separation Scheme, the workload of the organization will be reduced.
The document said that sending employees home would save the company Rs 4.2 billion annually. It was planned to keep the number of employees for 30 PIA ships to 7,500, with one PIA ship. There will be only 250 employees, the issue of retirement expenses of PIA employees will be considered in the ECC.
The budget for successful youth program services will also be considered by the Prime Minister. A summary of gas supply from PPL field is also part of the agenda.
In the last meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet, a reduction in the price of electricity was approved for the industrial sector, especially for small and medium scale industries. That the price of electricity for industries especially the SME sector should be reduced from Rs. 12.96 per unit to Rs. 10 per unit.
