PIA intensifies efforts to resume flights to Europe

The progress of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has repetitively been stymied by these interest groups in a plethora of ways and means.

Sometimes through strikes, strong arm tactics, going slow or by the book, litigation, court injunctions or never ending stay orders – these people have never let it go, fighting ferociously to protect their ill-claimed gains and benefits albeit at the cost of the company and in the greater picture, at the cost of the nation.

There has been much talk about mafias, thugs, carpetbaggers and highway bandits in this country or the land of the pure. Much has been written on the subject and is frequently debated, however the more there is talk the less has there been action.

A conundrum of sorts, the long arms and political connections of these interest groups rather gangs of marauders have been a challenge to the best of men and women of stature.

CAA Mafia Exposed

The purpose has always been the same, benefit yourself and your team of thugs to keep the management and the good men and women hostage. The latest were a series of jives flaunted by Pakistan Airline Pilots’ Association (PALPA) on safety and precautionary measures being inadequate for operating repatriation flights to rescue stranded countrymen abroad in foreign lands.

Thankfully, it never got the traction it needed in the media and support from the public at larger to hoodwink and strong arm the management into a sweeter deal in terms of perks and privileges for themselves, at a time of national but rather a global catastrophe. True Machiavellian to the very core.

Perhaps, a sign of changing times or perhaps an end to the patience or tolerance towards the debauchery that loomed large. Of course supported by political evangelists and others sitting on the bench awaiting their turn.

Implementation of the Compulsory Services Act in PIA

Good riddance to these cartels and highway robbers thankfully due to the implementation of the Essential Service Act and PIA’s management to finish off and do away with such unlawful associations. In a whisk all the pomposity and syndicalism ideals seems to have flown out of the window.

The PTI government, evidently, has finally been able to deliver on its promise of ridding the land from mafias, it’s late and after much damage but better late than never.

Bravo! Imran Khan and three cheers to the government for ridding the menace that plagued the pride of the nation and its flag carrier.

PIA cancels working agreements with PALPA and other associations

With the associations dysfunctional, including the strongest and the most lethal, PALPA, the management and the whole nation could now breathe a sigh of relief hoping that the turnaround initiatives and efforts would bear fruit.

Wishing the very best to the management of PIA and a commendation for braving the move. The nation is standing tall behind its valiant sons.
