PIA management transfers 450 employees from KHI to ISB
For the first time in the history of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) managaement issued the orders for the transfer of nearly 500 employees from Karachi (KHI) to Islamabad (ISB).
According to sources, the PIA management has asked 450 employees of the flag carrier’s marketing department to shift from the port city to the capital by December 28.
On the other hand, all the PIA offices in Sindh have been closed except Moenjodaro Airport and its office in Larkana. Employees of these cities have been transferred first to Karachi and now to Islamabad.

According to sources, the officers are suffering from severe anxiety and frustration over the sudden transfer orders. These officers also include a large number of women who are permanent residents of Karachi with their families settle in the city.
“The officers are suffering from severe anxiety and frustration after receiving sudden transfer orders,” the sources added.

On the other hand, the PIA spokesman said that most of the flight operations have shifted to Islamabad and Lahore in the north, so the officers have been transferred to Islamabad.
It should be noted that the head office of the national airline is in Karachi and in order to shift the head office from Karachi to another place, legislation has to be enacted by the National Assembly. It may be recalled that in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan on January 22, 2019, it was decided to shift the head office of PIA to Islamabad due to the Aviation Division being in Islamabad.
