PIA Plane crash: Civil Aviation prepares runway inspection report
Karachi, 23rd May: Civil aviation has prepared the runway inspection report regarding yesterday’s unfortunate PIA plane crash in Karachi. According to a private TV channel, the initial report said that the captain tried to land the plane twice. The plane’s landing gears weNT off while the pilot tried to land on the runway, so he made an emergency landing to the ATC. The pilot could not report about the landing on time, the left engine of the plane touched 4500 feet on the runway, and the right engine touched the ground 5500 feet away. According to the report, there are marks of both engines on the runway at 6,000 to 7,000 feet. The plane did not touch the runway, which caused the captain to take off again. The runway at Karachi Airport is 9,000 to 10,000 feet long. The pilot had to land his plane in the residential area.
